In light of all the recent terrorist threats and online corporate hacking, it is very important for individuals and business owners to follow a few basic network security tips.
Within the past five years, there have been a high number of online network security breaches. Some of these breaches have been caused by terrorist groups, while others have been the result of professional online hackers. In some cases, these online hacking incidents have caused large corporate companies billions of dollars.
One recent example includes the Sony Corporation, which has been the victim of online hacking twice in the past three years. Each time this hacking incident occurred, personal customer information was stolen. This not only caused the company to lose customers, but this incident also negatively impacted Sony’s corporate reputation.
Aside from large companies like Sony, there have also been a large number of small businesses and personal computer networks that have been hacked over the past five years. This has included small businesses like bakeries and coffee shops, and also the computer networks of home based business owners. In order to cut down and eliminate these online hacking incidents, it is very important for anyone who owns a computer to take a few cautionary network security tips.
Some of these include protecting your network firewall, being careful not to open suspicious looking email, not visiting suspicious looking websites, and also updating your anti-virus software at least twice a year. In addition, it is also very important to use a different password for all your personal online accounts.
